  • 10 single
  • 2 businesses
  • Membership forms will be sent to individuals and businesses from last year, and to those who were members in the past, but let their membership lapse for 2014 season.

             Trail report:

  • The Forestry Department’s new Recreation Coordinator/Forestry Technician. is Cody Brauner and can be reached at: office: 715-627-6300 or cell: 608-220-2665
  • As of this date our trails are in good to excellent riding conditions.
  • Jack, again has contacted the Forestry Department to try to get the ‘non-motorized vehicle’ status changed on the county land going to Summit Lake. He was told they will take it into consideration.
  • Bridge connecting White Lake to railroad grade; ground work is being established. Jack Adraschko stated that they are in the process of securing permission from the landowners on either side of the bridge.  When all that has been approved bridge construction will begin.  Hopefully within a year.
  • We are all in this together, and would appreciate you, as a club member, contacting the local legislators and county committees expressing your concerns as to why certain trails and routes cannot be made available for ATV’s. At this time we do not have enough volunteers to do all the work, businesses and private individuals have to step up to the plate and contact local legislatures.

Meeting Minutes

(unapproved)

April 18,  2015    9:00 A.M.

Lil’ Hummer’s Wolf’s Den, Hwy A & TT

The meeting was called to order by President Jack Andraschko at 9:00 A.M.

Minutes of the January 2015 meeting were unavailable.

Treasurer’s report was given by Jack Andraschko:

 Balance in checking:  $5,063.66

Balance in saving:      $8,103.58

Membership report:

  • 20-25 memberships have been received for the 2015 season.
  • Membership forms will be sent to individuals and businesses from last year, and to those who were members in the past, but let their membership lapse for 2014 season.

             Trail report:

  • Jack met with the Forestry Department and met the new Recreation Coordinator/Forestry Technician. His name is Cody Brauner and can be reached at: office: 715-627-6300 or cell: 608-220-2665
  • Jack and Dan will check the trails for obstructions and signage before the May 1st
  • Jack is working with a landowner to see if it is feasible to make a different trail from Lost Lake Road to Shaefer’s Store. This would eliminate some of the dust and noise problems we are experiencing with ATV’s in front of residences on Lost Lake Road.
  • Jack also talked to the Forestry Department to change the status of county land going to Summit Lake from “Non-motorized vehicles” to “Motorized Vehicles”; nothing to date has been changed, and doesn’t look very hopeful.
  • County Hwy T : Hummer and Jack met with the Highway Department, and nothing has been changed since last Fall.  The Department is quite adamant that it remain off limits to ATVers.  Jack is doing some checking with landowners to see if an alternate route is feasible to get our trail to Trailside.
  • Cty Hwy DD : as of this meeting date, nothing has been discussed.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Patrick’s Day parade went well, the cook-out was a hit, and a big thank you goes out to: Keith and Lynn Verhagen for preparing and supplying food, and Jim and Phyllis Huss for allowing us to use their property.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • It has been noted that Mole Lake donated $1500.00 to our club via the Langlade County Forestry Department.
  • There will be NO spring clean up of ditches this year. After considering the poor turnout of volunteers for the past two years, it is unfortunate that our community service project is being discontinued.
  • This year marks our tenth year of existence and it was brought up that we should recognize the milestone by having a fall celebration. It was brought up that perhaps we should have our celebration at Trailside, as they are one of our sponsors, but are not one of the places we can visit on our rides.

CLUB NEEDS:

  • Without volunteers our club cannot be a viable club. We need many more folks with fresh ideas and new enthusiasm to help out.  We are in need of a Treasurer.  It would also be nice to have a Club Ride Coordinator and a little help would help us reconsider spring clean ups.
  • If you have any suggestions or would like to volunteer for some of our projects please e-mail me at: upnorthin@hotmail.com

Next Meeting:

May 16th at 9am at Hummers:

Topic of discussion will be our summer/fall rides.

After the meeting, we will ride some of the trails on Augustyne Springs and back to Hummers for lunch.

Dan made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Jan Fischer.   All in favor.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned.
