• The trail between Forest Road and Lost Lake Road has been graded, one load of gravel put in low spot.
• Sheila Yeager brought up the Lost Lake Road route. It is very bumpy on the Hwy K side. The town does not grade it in the summer, and it is not a funded trail, therefore the club is not eligible for county funding. Dan will talk to the Town Chairman to see if the town grader can smooth it out.

o A motion was made by Hummer to purchase a chain saw for clearing downed trees, the motion was seconded by Jack, all approved, the motion carried.
„X Jan Fischer mentioned that Fuller's Sales and Service would probably sell us one at cost. She will let Dan know what she finds out.
o Dan talked to Steve Bailey about using the Snowmobile drag to go over our trails on a monthly basis next summer. Steve suggested the club purchase its own blade and then hire the snowmobile club tractor to pull it. It was also suggested to save a little cost, train someone to run the Snowmobile's tractor. Then it would only be equipment rental.
Dan Wierschke made a motion to adjourn Keith Verhagen seconded, all approved and motion carried.

Jack Andraschko suggested another mailing to past members who have not yet joined.

Old Business:

. ATV Safety Class was held on Memorial Weekend, with 32 students attending. All passed the test,
five having a perfect score. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the Safety Training a
Success.

New Business:

. If the club chooses to hold the ATV Safety Class at the Town Hall; it has become available the
weekend we would need it. It was decided to bring up the location at a later date.
. Clothing: Pat took an inventory, and the majority of the clothing is stored at her house. A discussion
followed to change the color of our shirts. One suggestion was an Iron-on-Patch, another suggestion
was pre-orders for a multitude of items in a multitude of colors. Sheila and Hummer will get more
information and cost on the two options suggested.
. The club purchased more trail and route signs. The county will reimburse the club for any signage on
club trails.
. Pat Girtz shared the poster the White Lake Club has up at various locations. The poster lists all their
club activities for the season.
. County Money is spent out with the exception of $343.00. We will receive another allotment on July
1.

Trail News

. The section behind the store needs some smoothing off. Dan will contact Steve Bailey.
. The motion detection camera had been placed on a problem area of Lost Lake Road. It works really
well, Once the pictures are uploaded and zoomed in, the licenses plates are very readable. This will
be good evidence to produce to the DNR in the event of trail mis-use occurs. It will be taken from
Lost Lake Road to another location.
. A resident of Pickerel Creek Road was very happy with the ATV’ers who used that road over the
Memorial Day Weekend.
. The town has extra salt/sand mix we can use to put on areas of Lost Lake and Pickerel Creek Roads.
. Dan Wierschke encouraged some of the club members to display “Trail Patrol” signs on the front of
their ATV’s . When seen on trails, they do curtail unacceptable behaviors.
. Trees were down in Augustyne Springs. Dan and Harlan Girtz removed them off the trails. There
also was a report of a tree down near the Wolf River. That particular trail is not part of our trail
system, therefore removal is not the responsibility of the club.

Regular Meeting Minutes (unapproved)
April 21, 2012 9:00 A.M.
Hummer's Hide-Away

The state of Wisconsin passed a law that ALL ATV's & UTV's will need a rear license tag. The law is effective July 1, 2012. Troy Schuster put together a packet to be sold either at TJ Customs or Hummers, The packet will consist of a tag, brackets to attach to ATV and letters and numbers to place on the tag. If you have not been made aware of this new law, the plate has to be no smaller than 4x8 inches. The letters/numbers must be a minimum of two inches high. You are required to secure your own tags, thus the reason for them being sold at Hummers. The cost is $9.00 for club members, and $10.00 for non members. The kit has everything you need.

The meeting was called to order by President Jack Andraschko at 9:00 am. The March minutes were read by Mary Ann Wierschke. Jack Adraschko made a motion to accept the March minutes, seconded by Dan Wierschke

Treasurer's report was given by Jan Fischer
Savings balance $4998.39 including $9.31 in interest for March
Checking balance: $5046.88, with deposits of $.33 interest, $560.00 memberships, $150.00 Associate Memberships, and $6.00 from map Sales. Disbursements for the month were: Raffle License $50.00. WATVA- $80.00, Postage- $23.40.
A motion was made by Pat Girtz to approve the Treasurers report as read, seconded by Dan Wierschke all approved and motion passed.

Membership Report was given by Arlen Panko:
Currently there are 44 family members, 16 single members and 3 associate members
The Associate Members are: Hummer's Hide-a-Way, Schaeffer's Country Store, and Walleye Lodge

Old Business:
None

New Business:
• License Plates
o The Club will not be involved in the sale of license plates.
o They can be purchased at TJ Customs or Hummers
o If you have questions regarding the license plate please refer to our website.
http://wolfriverriders.com
• Hummer is starting to serve breakfast, on May 4th, therefore his dining room will not be available for our meetings. A suggestion was made to have the meeting in the bar area. A motion was made by Pat Girtz and seconded by Jan Fischer to hold our meetings in the bar area at Hummers
• Trail Repair
o It was suggested the trail across from Hill's Still (through the woods) needs some gravel repair. It is not a funded trail. While we are doing the woods, it would be cost effective to do the big mud hole further down the trail. The concern is we still need to find out who owns the property before any work is done. Jack Andraschko and Dan Wierschke will locate the owners and try to get easements. Pat Girtz will check with the snowmobile club to see if they have records of the land owners.
o Dan made a proposal to reimburse volunteers who trim trails a $50.00 reimbursement for gas.
„X Pat explained that the Forestry department does not have the staff to maintain trails and will allot monies to the Wolf River Riders to maintain the Augustine Springs trail system and our own trails. The State of Wisconsin will reimburse the forestry department per mile of trail. Our club will get an automatic $100 per mile of trail; we have 25.7 miles of trail. If our expenses exceed $2,500 we would have to get permission from the Forestry Department for additional monies. If the club experiences ruts from 4wd trucks those repairs will not come out of our allotment. Forms need to be sent to the Forestry Department weekly for reimbursements. And if needed, the county will provide heavy duty equipment.
„X This spring Harlen, Dave and Jack worked on Augustine Springs. Jack also did between Lost Lake and Hummers, and east of Hwy 55. Chris Brooks worked on the area between Hummers and Pickerel Creek Road behind Schafers.
„X Pat will take care of the paperwork and get it into the Forestry Department
„X After much discussion, Jan Fischer proposed that volunteers will not get paid directly , but could submit receipts for gas they used for their vehicles, atv's or chain saw. Dan Wierschke seconded the motion, the motion passed. Receipts will be submitted to Pat Girtz,.

„X ATV Safety class, being held on Memorial Day, has enrollment of 5 so far, with another 12 potentials.
„X Meetings were attended by some club members, to open up the Wolf River State Trail, the new director was initially very enthusiastic, but we have not heard any thing from her since that initial meeting.

The Mulhollon’s also noted they are going to Madison to try to get the Langlade railroad grade opened to ATV’s. Discussion took place about the DNR and noise and pollution. A study is going to take place to prove there are no negative effects of ATV’s, or at least they are comparable to snowmobiles. Clubs may be asked to help fund this study.

*Trail Signage. Signs on Pickerel Creek Rd did not survive winter snow plowing very well. Plywood to make new signs may be donated by Ken Karpinski. It was discussed that aluminum would be too expensive and would loosen up quickly on the posts.

*discussion of combining with snow clubs to create a new route for Pickerel Creek Rd was discussed. It was determined that a new route is not possible.

*it was mentioned that ATV’s will be required to have license plates as of 7/1/2011, with a 1 year grace period. More information needs to be gathered.

*it was questioned as to who would have the authority to shut down a trail. It was discussed that any landowner can do so immediately.

*it was questioned as to whether our club should renew the WATVA membership. Pat motioned, motioned carried.

*It was mentioned that the club will pay for dinner for two club members who attend the WATVA annual meeting on April 20-22nd. This motion carried in the February meeting.

From the Membership Coordinator:

March 2012

Hello club members and ATV enthusiasts,

This email is going out to everyone in my contact list, both past and present members. Some of you have already paid your 2012 club membership dues and for those who have not, the 2012 membership form is attached. If it does not print out correctly for you, please change your printer settings to "landscape" instead of "portrait". It is in a .PDF file format so you will need a free reader such as Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader and a printer. Please print your information clearly and return it to Jan, along with your membership dues, to the address provided on the form. If you are not able to print out the membership form, they will be available at our meetings.

Our club will be participating in the St. Patricks Day Parade in Pickerel this Saturday, March 17th. It had been decided in our February directors meeting that we will not be having any kind of "float" in the parade but will be riding our machines with maybe some kind of banner at the front to let the onlookers know who we are. If you would like to decorate your individual machines with a family-friendly St. Pats theme, that would be fine.

We will be meeting at Lil' Hummers Wolf's Den Bar, Grill & Campground on A & TT at 10 A.M. That is one hour later than our normal meeting time of 9 A.M. and then traveling to Pickerel to participate in the parade.

After the parade, stick around for the fun and entertainment scheduled at the local businesses. They do appreciate your support.

Please keep me informed of any of your contact information that has recently changed or that you anticipate changing in the future, especially your email address or that of fellow club members email addresses.

Check out our newly redesigned web site.

Old Business:

New Business:
• Pat Girtz, Sheila Yeager and Jan Fischer helped out representing our club in the food booth at the WATVA Sponsored New Equipment/Dirt Demo at the Langlade County Fairgrounds. There was no one from our club signed up for Saturday, Hummer was going to stop by over the noon hour and help out.
• Everyone from our club who has an e-mail address should have received a notice stating there is a meeting being held at the Langlade County Forestry Department regarding obtaining access to the old railroad bed between Lily and White Lake.
Trail News:
• The trail segment kitty-corner across from Shaefer's Store has been leveled off and widened
o The bill will becoming in from Charles Jackson for the work done. It is now a funded trail. The club will pay the bill, and then will be reimbursed from the Forestry Department.
• The trail behind Dick Gunther's has been graded
o Dan will talk to Dick Gunther, about plowing it when he plows the corn, that would make it easier to grade in the future.

The next meeting will be held on September 15, at 9:00 am at Hummers.
